Hi,

I’m Esmerelda — which I hope is obviously a fake name. Identity in the real world is not a secret, but identity is not the point. So I’m going to be your guide through the Untitled Mystery Project. The long and short of it is, the desire is strong to write a novel, but it’s easy to get too bound up in the details and “real world” pressures... So here’s a “draft-on-purpose” version to lower the standards and let us play around with the story.

Honestly, almost no one will see this page as a “subscriber”, it’s just to have a destination that explains UMpro better than the short bio on Instagram. But back to the task at hand, we’re all along for the ride on this project. We’ve got an outline, some chapters already written, and a trip to Hawai’i planned for “research” over the summer. The whole idea is to just write and share and figure out how to reverse engineer a compelling story. And not get too worried (yet) along the way. Before we’re done, we hope it’ll be good. But, right now, that’s not the goal. The character and place names might change — we’ll let y’all vote on them! The graphics have already improved! The chapter and scene order is going to mix around and grow — we definitely need to add more red herrings and maybe some risky behavior. And we hope for lots of feedback from you, our intrepid early readers.
